Pat’s Run returns to Tempe next weekend after a two-year in-person hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 18th annual event that honors the legacy of late former Arizona State and Cardinals player and army ranger Pat Tillman will commence on Saturday at Sun Devil Stadium.
Registration for in-person participation closes Monday at 11:59 p.m., although the deadline for virtual racers will remain open until April 24 at 11:59 p.m.
Pat’s Run is a 4.2-mile run or walk that raises funds for the Pat Tillman Foundation’s Tillman Scholar program. The finish line is the 42-yard line inside Sun Devil Stadium, as Tillman wore No. 42 for ASU.
Gates will open at 5 a.m. and the race will begin at 7:05 a.m. A 0.42-mile version for kids is set for 10 a.m.
Participants will receive a limited edition dri-fit race shirt and a medal.
The Pat Tillman Foundation provides scholarships and mentorships to military service members, veterans and spouses. There have been 764 Tillman Scholars to this point.
Those interested in participating can register online.
