The Phoenix Suns narrowly covered a 10.5-point spread in Game 1 against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night.
Point guard Chris Paul hit a jumper with 39 seconds left to give Phoenix a 110-99 lead, and the Pelicans missed two shots in the final 30 ticks to keep the difference at 11.
The Suns remain double-digit favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook for Tuesday’s Game 2. Phoenix’s spread is -10 and has -108 odds to cover, so a $10 bet would win $9.26.
BetOnline’s spread for the game is 9.5 points at -110 odds.
The Suns’ moneyline sits at -510 on FanDuel Sportsbook and the Pelicans’ is at +390. A $10 bet on Phoenix’s moneyline would net $1.96.
Phoenix and New Orleans battled four times during the regular season and each game was decided by double digits. The Suns won three contests, and their one loss came with Paul out of the lineup with a fractured thumb.
The point total over/under for Tuesday is at 221.5, so there will have to be at least 13 more points scored than Sunday’s game for the over to hit. New Orleans scored a season-low 34 points in the first half before finding a groove in the third quarter.
Two of the four regular season matchups had point totals over 221.5.
The Suns are 2.5-game favorites in the series, needing a sweep or five-game set to cover.
Game 2 will begin at 7 p.m. from Footprint Center, and you can tune in on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
