Things took a turn for the better in the ongoing contract saga between the Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray on Thursday.
Despite the back and forth that has gone on throughout most of the offseason, Cardinals GM Steve Keim didn’t need much to get his point across, saying there was “zero chance” the team would trade Murray.
About two hours later, Murray voiced his stance in the form of three tweets, either reaffirming his desire to remain in the desert or calling out Colin Cowherd on his recent comments on the QB.
The impromptu tweet storm came after Keim also divulged the team’s timeline on a new contract extension for the third-year quarterback will likely happen later on this summer despite a recent report saying the upcoming NFL Draft was the deadline for Murray and his camp to receive a new deal.
There’s a lot that can happen between now and the start of training camp, but the vibes inside the Cardinals organization appear to be positive.
What does this mean for both sides moving forward and are we finally entering the latter stages of this contract conundrum?
On top of the latest developments surrounding Murray and the Cardinals, Keim also got into the team’s primary needs heading into the draft.
Unsurprisingly, pass rusher, wide receiver and cornerback take the cake as the team’s main priorities.
But of the trio, which position is the most important to Arizona’s success this season?
Cardinals reporter Tyler Drake and Erik Ruby break it all down on the latest episode of Cardinals Corner, an Arizona Sports podcast.
