The Phoenix Suns held on for a 114-111 victory in Game 3 of the opening round against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, and sportsbooks anticipate another tight game.
Without guard Devin Booker (hamstring), the Suns leaned once again on Chris Paul down the stretch. The 37-year-old scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to pull Phoenix across the finish line to take a 2-1 series lead.
The Suns are favored by two points in Game 4 on Sunday evening, according to FanDuel Sportsbook and BetOnline.
Phoenix has -110 odds to cover on Fanduel Sportsbook with -126 odds to hit the moneyline. Booker will not play for the second straight game, although the Suns have managed to collect wins without their All-Star. Phoenix went 8-3 without Booker during the regular season, not including three losses at the end of the year when the team rested starters.
The Suns are 2-1 against the spread during this series.
They were favored by 10.5 points in Game 1 and barely covered with an 11-point win. After falling in Game 2, Phoenix was 2.5-point favorites for Game 3 and covered by less than a point again.
The point over/under set for Game 4 is 215.5 with -110 odds. The past two games of the series finished with more points scored.
New Orleans wing Brandon Ingram has the best odds for top scorer at +150 after he put up 34 points on Friday.
Game 4 from Smoothie King Center is set for 6:30 p.m. and will air on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
