Arizona Coyotes to support HBCU student mentorship program

The Arizona Coyotes are partnering with sports marketing firm Position Sports to support the DREAM Mentorship program, an initiative to give students from historically black colleges and universities opportunities in the sports business industry.
The virtual program is 10 weeks and involves networking, resume building, interacting with professionals and a sponsor-based group project, according to a Monday press release.
Position Sports describes it as a real-world classroom to create an inclusive work environment.
Several students participating are set to attend the Coyotes vs. Nashville Predators game on Friday as a networking opportunity.

Gutierrez said in a statement. “Diversity, equity, and inclusion are the core pillars of our organization, and we believe very strongly in our responsibility to open doors for others to help everyone achieve the American dream.”
There are presently 26 students in the program from 16 HBCUs.
“We have seen how mentorship and allyship can directly impact the lives of students, leading to new educational and employment opportunities and we are proud to support this program that seeks to bring diverse talent into the sports industry at all levels” Gutierrez said.
