ESPN analyst thinks Kevin Kolb to Cards is a ‘slam dunk’

With each passing day Kevin Kolb is becoming more and more like a head cheerleader. He’s the most popular person in school but also the one who the most rumors are floating around about.
Thursday’s rumor comes courtesy of ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio. As a guest on SiriusXM’s Opening Drive he told host Peter King that Kolb coming to the desert is an inevitability. Although he did provide himself an out.
Asked Sal gut feel where Kolb ends up. “Arizona … a slam dunk as much as you can have a slam dunk.” But only if Phl likes compensation.
So Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals is a ‘slam dunk’ unless the Philadelphia Eagles don’t like the deal? If you were paying a psychic and they gave that kind of insight you’d probably demand your money back.
That’s like making the prediction that the NFL will not miss any games or training camp if both sides like a new collective bargaining agreement that is proposed before August. There is nothing to it other than stating the obvious.
Paolantonio may have his finger on the pulse of the Eagles but the comment doesn’t bring us any closer to knowing who will be lining up under center for the Cards in 2011.
The ironic thing about all of this is Kolb hasn’t said a word about being traded since the off-season began. He’s the most popular silent man since Charlie Chaplin.
