Arizona State WR LV Bunkley-Shelton to enter transfer portal

Arizona State wide receiver LV Bunkley-Shelton announced on Thursday that he is entering the transfer portal after two years with the program.

Bunkley-Shelton appeared in four games as a freshman, hauling in 11 passes for 100 yards before he was eventually redshirted.
In his second season with the Sun Devils, Bunkley-Shelton caught 33 balls for 418 yards over 12 games.
His yards per reception jumped 3.6 yards from 9.1 his first season to 12.7 in the second.
Bunkley-Shelton finished third on the team in receiving yards in 2021 behind Ricky Pearsall and Rachaad White, who both will not be with the team next season.
Pearsall, as well as Freshman All-American linebacker Eric Gentry, entered the transfer portal this offseason.
Bunkley-Shelton high school athlete struggled to find a groove with quarterback Jayden Daniels and Zak Hill’s offense.
Arizona State featured a run-heavy offense that was 11th in the conference in total pass yards.
Wideout Andre Johnson had the most receiving yards last season of players returning for next year with 154, the fifth-highest in 2021.
