The Arizona Cardinals used their No. 23 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft to trade for wide receiver Marquise Brown on Thursday.

Not only is he a 1,000-yard receiver, but he is best friends with Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.

The QB-receiver tandem put up gaudy numbers in the 2018 college season together, losing to Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Murray went on to win the Heisman trophy and Brown recorded 1,318 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns.

Let’s take a look at their five best games or plays together:

Oklahoma-West Virginia; 2018 Big 12 matchup

This simply might have been one of “Hollywood” Brown’s best games in college.

He caught a college career-high 11 balls and had 243 receiving yards, the second-most in his Sooners career.

Brown also caught two different touchdown passes from Murray, who finished with 364 passing yards, 114 rushing yards and four total touchdowns.

The Sooners went on to win the contest, 59-56.

Oklahoma-Iowa State; 2018 Big 12 matchup

This was only the third game for Murray starting at quarterback for the Sooners, but boy he did not disappoint.

Murray threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns, his second consecutive game of throwing for over 300 yards and three or more touchdowns.

Brown was on the receiving end of nine catches and 191 of those yards, as well as one touchdown.

Oklahoma revenged their only loss from the 2017 regular season with a 37-27 win.

Oklahoma-Baylor; 2018 Big 12 matchup

It was a recurring theme for one of college football’s best teams, but once again it was the Murray show.

Murray tossed for 432 yards and six touchdowns. He also added 45 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Brown recorded his third 100+ yard receiving game in four tries to open the season, hauling in five catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

His 26.4 yards per reception was a season high for 2018.

The 66-33 drubbing over Baylor kept the Sooners undefeated at 5-0 on the season.

Oklahoma-Texas; Marquise Brown 77-yard TD

The Red River Rivalry is one of the best in all of college football. The offensive fireworks rarely disappoint.

But in 2018, Murray and Brown failed to put a win for Oklahoma in the rivalry’s history book.

The 77-yard TD was a case of route running meeting speed and Brown practically got behind the secondary untouched.

For an almost unblemished season, this was the rare slip-up and lone regular-season loss.

Murray threw for 304 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He also added 92 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Brown followed up a stellar game against Baylor with an almost copycat performance, this time hauling in nine balls for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

This brought the wide receiver’s season touchdown total to seven in the first five games.

Although Texas won 48-45, Oklahoma got their revenge in the Big 12 Championship game.

Oklahoma-Iowa State; Marquise Brown 75-yard TD

Murray knew that if Brown hit the open field, there was not a player on the field that could have caught him.

In this instance, Brown’s only touchdown of the game came on a play he was double covered.

Brown’s speed was too much for the Cyclones’ defense.

Murray and Brown had seriously made their name known around the country in the third game of the season.

The quarterback had to follow the heels of Heisman winner Baker Mayfield the year before, but with a receiver like Brown, it made everything just a little bit easier.

Just like in 2018 at Oklahoma, Kyler Murray and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown will be wearing the same shade of red.
