By the numbers: Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown’s NFL career

May 1, 2022, 9:09 AM

The newest member of the Arizona Cardinals, wideout Marquise Brown, is no stranger to monster plays and games in between the white lines.

“Hollywood” Brown had his best pro season yet in 2021, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark for the first time over his three-year career.

Before the Cardinals hit the field with their newest weapon, let’s take a look at Brown’s NFL career so far by the numbers:

195

Brown has amassed 195 receptions over his three seasons in the NFL but caught 91 of those balls in 2021 alone.

He started in 16 of 17 games for the Baltimore Ravens last season and averaged 63 yards per game, a career-high from his 48.1 yards per game in 2020.

Cardinals star DeAndre Hopkins caught 42 balls in 10 games before getting injured in 2021 and could potentially create a matchup problem opposite Brown for many defenses.

21

Brown has recorded 21 touchdowns over his three years with the Ravens.

That metric led the team ahead of tight end Mark Andrews, who had 20 over the same time period.

Brown turned heads his rookie year out of Oklahoma by recording seven touchdowns. He followed up in his second year recording a career-high eight.

Last season saw his lowest touchdown count with six, but 2021 was also his best year in terms of overall production.

100

Brown is a difference-maker in terms of extending defenses and drives.

He has tallied 100 first downs in 46 games played (41 starts) and averaged over two per game.

The 41 first downs were a career-high for Brown.

He also saw a huge jump in receptions per game, jumping from 3.6 to 5.7.

1,318

Although this was not Brown’s NFL career, he caught 1,318 yards when he last teamed up with Kyler Murray in college.

Oklahoma’s 2018 football season was highlighted by some Murray and Brown magic that ultimately fell short in the College Football Playoff.

The 1,318 yards were coupled with 10 touchdowns. Brown also averaged 17.6 yards per reception in his last collegiate season.

Heisman Trophy winner Murray was taken No. 1 overall and Brown was selected No. 25, both in 2019.
