The Phoenix Suns announced they will host The HeroZona Foundation for the return of a segment of the Bridge Forum, “Mental Health.”
The goal of the segment is to focus on mental health issues sweeping the nation and what actions can be taken to help the community.
It will be streamed on the Suns’ Facebook page on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Footprint Center.
“There are many stereotypes that surround mental health which perpetuate harm to Arizonans struggling with certain diagnoses,” said HeroZona cofounder Alan “AP” Powell in a press release.
“Forums like this one are important in breaking those stigmas and helping the community better understand how to support those affected by mental health issues.”
The keynote will be given by the NBAPA director of mental health and wellness William D. Parham, according to the release.
The foundation holds multiple summits which aim to bring leadership voices from around the county to discuss issues such as mental health, racial inequality, veteran’s issues and more.
“The events of the past two years have no doubt impacted the mental health of our community,” Suns president & CEO Jason Rowley said.
“Our organization is honored to provide an environment that will advance the discourse on the importance of mental health with such an esteemed panel to assist our friends, family and others with the education and resources they need.”
