The Arizona Wildcats and Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball programs are planning on playing against each other in Las Vegas on Dec. 10, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
The two teams are “finalizing an agreement” to play at MGM Grand Garden Arena but there is no timetable for an official announcement, Rothstein adds.
Arizona is coming off a 33-4 season in which it won both the Pac-12 regular-season title and conference tournament en route to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Head coach Tommy Lloyd also brought home the AP National Coach of the Year in his first season at the helm in Tucson.
But unfortunately for the Wildcats, they were upset by the No. 5 seeded Houston Cougars in the Sweet 16.
Arizona will also have to deal with the departures of guards Bennedict Mathurin and Dalen Terry and center Christian Koloko, who all declared for the 2022 NBA Draft on June 23.
Indiana is coming off of a 21-14 season in Mike Woodson’s second year as head coach.
Woodson led his No. 12 seeded team to a First Four victory over Wyoming in what was the Hoosiers’ first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017
However, Indiana bowed out in the First Round to No. 5 seeded St. Mary’s.
