Suns’ Torrey Craig out for Game 3 vs. Mavericks with elbow contusion

May 6, 2022, 5:07 PM | Updated: 5:08 pm

Suns forward Torrey Craig is out for Game 3 of Phoenix’s Western Conference semifinals matchup against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, head coach Monty Williams said pregame.

Craig is dealing with a right elbow contusion.

The forward has played just three minutes in each of the past two games of the series.

The injury could have been sustained in a Game 2 win over Dallas, when Craig went down hard while trying to block Maverick and former Sun Marquese Chriss.

Craig recorded a rebound and a steal in the win.

In six playoff games this season, Craig is averaging one point, 1.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists over 7.5 minutes per game.

With a few more minutes up for grabs, forwards Cam Johnson and Ish Wainwright could be in line for added time on the court.

Through eight games this playoffs (three starts), Johnson is averaging 11.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 26.1 minutes played.

In two games this postseason for Wainwright, the forward is averaging 1.5 points and 0.5 rebounds across four minutes per contest.

Phoenix enters Game 3 in Dallas with a 2-0 lead.

The Suns tip off against the Mavericks on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
