The Phoenix Suns are getting a versatile defensive player back on the bench for Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Dallas Mavericks.
Head coach Monty Williams told reporters pregame Tuesday that forward Torrey Craig is available to play.
Craig was listed as questionable on the Suns’ injury report Monday ahead of Tuesday night’s matchup after missing two contests with an elbow contusion.
He banged his elbow on the court during Game 2.
Craig played in six of eight playoff games before the injury. He had a more profound role in the opening round against the New Orleans Pelicans when he averaged 9.7 minutes in Games 1-4.
He did not check in for the final two contests of the opening series and then played 6:26 over the first two games against Dallas.
Craig played 27 games for the Suns during the regular season after Phoenix acquired him in a trade with the Indiana Pacers in February. The Suns sent former first-round pick Jalen Smith to the Pacers in the deal.
Craig played 20.9 minutes per game in the regular season for Phoenix and averaged 6.9 points with 4.8 rebounds.
The Mavericks evened the series at 2-2 with a 111-101 victory Sunday. Craig could provide a matchup option for head coach Monty Williams as Phoenix looks to get back on top.
Game 5 from Footprint Center is set for Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
