Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker finished in fourth place in voting for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award, the league announced Wednesday.

For the second straight season, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic won the award, receiving 65 first place votes. He became the 13th player in NBA history to win the award in consecutive seasons.

Booker didn’t receive any first place votes but received one vote for second place. He had eight third place votes, 49 fourth place votes and 22 fifth place votes for a total of 216 votes.

It marks the first time in Booker’s career where he’s received any MVP votes.

He finished behind Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished second and third, respectively.

Booker made a late push for the award after a strong last month to the regular season.

He finished the regular season averaging 26.8 points per game on 46.6% shooting from the field.

Booker finished one spot ahead of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic (146 points), who the Suns currently hold a 3-2 lead over in the Western Conference semifinals.

He wasn’t the only member of the Suns to receive votes, as point guard Chris Paul received two fifth-place votes.

The Suns and Mavericks face off in Game 6 on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. You can catch all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
