The Arizona Cardinals signed six players following tryouts at rookie minicamp, the team announced Monday.

The Cardinals signed quarterback Jarrett Guarantano, running back T.J. Pledger, wide receivers Christian Blake and Jared Smart, offensive lineman Greg Long and safety Jared Smart.

To make room for the signings, Arizona released linebacker Ron’Dell Carter, offensive lineman Marcus Henry, safety Kekaula Kaniho, defensive lineman Will Miles and receivers Changa Hodge and Stephon Robinson Jr.

Blake is the one signing who happens to be a veteran, spending the last four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He appeared in 41 games (three starts), catching 28 passes for 257 yards while playing a role on special teams, tallying eight tackles.

The other five new signings are rookies who were invited to minicamp this past weekend.

Guarantano, who transferred to Washington State from Tennessee this past season, is a dual-threat quarterback who had 13 multi-touchdown games in his collegiate career.

A former teammate of Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver Marquise Brown at Oklahoma, Pledger spent his last season in college with Utah where he ran for 694 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Long played the last two seasons of his college ball at Purdue, where he was an All-Big 10 honorable mention after starting six games.

As for Smart, the receiver racked up 1,863 yards and eight scores in 36 career games for Hawaii.

The lone defensive player signed, Daley started 10 games for Virginia Tech last season where he had 73 tackles, four passes defensed and a forced fumble.

Of the cuts, Carter was claimed by the Cardinals off waivers from the Houston Texans on April 26. It made for his second stint with the organization, playing on the practice squad in 2021 before Houston signed him to their active roster.
