D-backs OF Cooper Hummel activated off IL, INF Drew Ellis to Triple-A

Outfielder Cooper Hummel was activated from the injured list (COVID-19 protocols) on Thursday as the Arizona Diamondbacks sent infielder Drew Ellis to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.
Hummel is averaging .190 in 32 games (99 plate appearances) and carries a .658 OPS. He’s registered 16 hits and eight RBIs to go along with 15 walks and nine runs scored. He’s struck out 30 times.
Hummel has primarily played left field, making 10 starts there and hitting .305 over 43 at-bats in those games.
The 27-year-old also has nine starts as the designated hitter but is hitting .065 in 31 at-bats as DH.
He first went on the IL on May 18.
Ellis has appeared in six games. In 13 at-bats, he has two hits, including a double. Ellis additionally has a walk and six strikeouts.
