Despite hosting two teams who were fielding split squads, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick saw a record-high number of fans Sunday for a spring training game.
The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that the attendance for their matchup with the San Francisco Giants was 12,976, which is more than 100 people better than the ballpark’s previous record of 12,871 set on March 16, 2014, against Milwaukee.

To make the afternoon even sweeter, the Diamondbacks treated the large crowd to a 10-5 win.
The other portion of the D-backs did even better the same afternoon, blasting San Francisco 12-2 at Scottsdale Stadium.
Diamondbacks officials said Salt River Fields has now seen 82 sellouts since 2011. The team has 14 home games left at the Scottsdale venue during the current spring training campaign.
