Two teams in the state advanced to the 2022 Division I Men’s Baseball Championship, with Arizona and Grand Canyon baseball making the field of 64.

After a 37-23 record, the Wildcats will head to the Coral Gables Region hosted by the overall 6-seed Miami Hurricanes.

Arizona will be the 2-seed in its region and will play 3-seed Ole Miss (32-22) in its first game on Friday. It marks the 41st time the Wildcats have made the tournament in program history.

The Wildcats had a 2-2 record this weekend at the Pac-12 Conference Baseball Tournament and were bounced by eventual tournament champion and the No. 2 seed nationally, Stanford.

The Hurricanes will face Canisius, who rounds out the Coral Gables Regional.

As for GCU, the Antelopes make the tournament for the second straight season.

With a 41-19 record, GCU received an at-large bid after losing in the WAC Tournament Championship on Sunday to Abilene Christian. It’s the first time the WAC received two bids since 2012.

The ‘Lopes will head to Stillwater as part of the regional hosted by No. 7 overall seed Oklahoma State.

GCU, the region’s 3-seed, will face the Arkansas Razorbacks (38-18) on Friday at 10 a.m.

Arkansas is currently on a four-game losing streak after finishing the season third in the SEC.

They’ll be joined in the region by Oklahoma State, who will face 4-seed Missouri State.
