ASU men’s golf qualifies top-8 for team championship at Grayhawk

Arizona State men’s golf finished seventh in the team portion of stroke play at Grayhawk Golf Club, qualifying for the championship on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Sun Devils finished +9 on the day and +24 over the four days at the NCAA Championship, making the cut by 11 strokes over Arkansas.

The field was cut from 15 teams down to eight at the conclusion of Monday’s round after it was cut from 30 to 15 following Sunday.

The eight teams competing with ASU for the championship will be Oklahoma (+14), Vanderbilt (+14), North Carolina (+14), Texas (+17), Oklahoma State (+21), Pepperdine (+26) and Texas Tech (+33).

ASU’s Cameron Sisk finished one stroke off the individual championship and tied for fifth at +1 over the four rounds. Gordon Sargent from Vanderbilt won the title in a playoff at even par for the tournament.

Texas’ Parker Coody, North Carolina’s Ryan Burnett and Oklahomas State’s Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra all finished tied for second at even par over the four days.

Sun Devils’ David Puig finished T-11 at five-over par. Preston Summerhays finished third for ASU at +9.
