While most of the focus around this time of the offseason is on OTAs and who is and isn’t in attendance, the voluntary workouts weren’t the only thing head coach Kliff Kingsbury checked out the to-do list this month.
The Arizona Cardinals head coach was among the NFLers in attendance for Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay’s wedding last Saturday.

It went beyond just showing his face and doing the Cha-Cha Slide, too, as Kingsbury tried his hardest in persuading Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp to rethink their plans with Arizona’s NFC West rival.
“I did my best to try and get Aaron Donald to retire, obviously that didn’t work,” Kingsbury said jokingly to reporters on Thursday. “I told him he accomplished all he could accomplish and I think it’s a great idea to go out on your own terms, all that.
“And then I told Kupp, I was basically like, ‘I know you and Sean are friends but stop taking that McVay discount, hold out for the first three weeks and get something sorted out.’ You can tell that did not work out, either.”
It was a valiant but fleeting effort by Kingsbury, as both Donald and Kupp inked massive new extensions that keep them around Hollywood for the foreseeable future.
But all jokes aside, Kingsbury was taken aback by the amount of people from McVay’s life that poured into to celebrate the special day with him and his new wife Veronika.
“I told Sean this, but just to see that many coaches that he’s worked with, young, old, former,” Kingsbury said. “Former players, current players show up to support him. It just shows the impact he has on those guys.
“Just to see those guys in a different light, most of the time when you see all those coaches and players everybody’s revved up, nervous, anxious,” Kingsbury added. “To just see everybody kind of lay back and let their guards down, it was a beautiful day.”
As for if he took any notes for his own wedding down the line at some point?
“He’s got a lot more money than me, I’ll start at that point,” the head coach joked.
