Texas transfer and senior guard Courtney Ramey will be joining the Arizona Wildcats, he confirmed on his Instagram.
Ramey across four seasons with the Longhorns averaged 10.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game on 39.2% shooting. The 6-foot-3 guard has been a starter since midway through his freshman year, accumulating 106 starts in his 128 appearances.
The arrival of Ramey is a big one for a Wildcats roster that is losing ball-handlers Bennedict Mathurin and Dalen Terry to the 2022 NBA Draft, while guard Justin Kier was in his last year of eligibility.
Starting point guard Kerr Kriisa will be joined in the backcourt by a combination of the incoming Ramey, as well as supporting cast members from last year Pelle Larsson and Adama Bal. 2021 four-star guard Shane Nowell entered the transfer portal in May after playing only 66 minutes as a freshman.
Tommy Lloyd’s staff also brought in wing transfer Cedric Henderson Jr. from Campbell, Serbian small forward Filip Borovicanin, Estonian center Henri Veesaar and four-star center Dylan Anderson.
