The Arizona Cardinals invited four players on a tryout basis to their minicamp practice on Wednesday.

Former Chargers running back Justin Jackson, former Packers cornerback Josh Jackson, Arizona State safety product Evan Fields and former Chiefs linebacker Ben Niemann were on the field.

A second-round pick out of Iowa in 2018, Josh Jackson played three years for the Green Bay Packers, posting 49 tackles as a rookie with 10 passes defensed before his production fell off the next two seasons.

He did not appear with the New York Giants last year and then made four tackles for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jackson could vie for a roster spot as the Cardinals search for corner depth following the death of Jeff Gladney this offseason. Gladney lost his life in a May car accident.

Justin Jackson was a 2018 seventh-round pick who over the past four years played in 43 games for the Chargers. He has a career average of 5.0 yards per carry, with 1,040 total yards, four touchdowns and an additional 508 receiving yards on his resume.

The Cardinals’ running back depth chart begins with James Conner, while veteran Darrel Williams and third-year pros Eno Benjamin and Jonathan Ward are next in line. Rookie draft pick Keaontay Ingram could also push for reps.

Niemann, who also has four years of NFL experience, has 167 career tackles with two sacks and four fumble recoveries in his time with the Chiefs. He made a career-high 57 tackles in 2021.

Fields, an undrafted rookie, played five years with the Sun Devils, having his best season as a true junior in 2019 with 84 tackles, 4.5 for loss and two interceptions.
