The Arizona Cardinals have a question mark on their offensive line if center Rodney Hudson and his unknown issues with the team go unresolved.

Hudson was a no-show during mandatory minicamp as an “unexcused” absence, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

The backup center position is still up in the air with names such as Justin Pugh, Lecitus Smith and Sean Harlow taking snaps during minicamp.

“If you can get an identity, then get some veteran guys… Find that one bread and butter and lean on that just a little bit more,” Former Cardinals center A.Q. Shipley said on the Big Red Rage on Thursday.

“Now you have all the veterans lifting up the young guys. You start making plays, one turns into two and two turns into three.”

Shipley joked that he thought it was funny Pugh thinks he can seamlessly move his way from the guard position to center.

Some of the differences include having one hand between your legs, calling all the plays and just being on the exact same page as the quarterback.

Shipley mentions how having one player that elevates everyone’s game around them can be very beneficial to everyone on the offense, something he learned after playing in Tampa Bay with Tom Brady.

“For (Kyler) the next step is just grabbing everyone around him, whether he just needs one play and everyone will look to him. Down in Tampa I have never seen anything like it, what he was able to bring on the field, to the locker room and to the team, nobody wanted to let him down.”
