Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Daulton Varsho sent a 435-foot blast clear of the pool in right-center field at Chase Field to punctuate a five-run sixth inning Sunday against the Detroit Tigers.
Arizona took a 11-6 lead in the sixth, exceeding seven runs in a game for the first time since June 26, and won 11-7.
The three-run shot was Varsho’s 10th of the year, as he joined first baseman Christian Walker and outfielder Jordan Luplow as D-backs with double-digit home runs this year.

Varsho’s shot, his first home run since June 10, came off a hanging changeup by Detroit’s Will Vest.
“Did not try to do too much, got a pitch that I could hit,” Varsho said postgame on the Bally Sports Arizona broadcast.
Varsho had the fourth hit of the inning after Josh Rojas, Pavin Smith and David Peralta all reached base with knocks.
Hitting was contagious for the D-backs Sunday after a difficult week at the plate. They scored 11 runs in their previous five games combined.
Smith had four hits for the first time as a big leaguer after a 4-for-40 stretch entering the ballgame. He also drove in three runs.
The D-backs are back in action Tuesday against the San Diego Padres a Chase Field. Catch the action on 98.7 Arizona’s Sports Station.
