Phoenix Mercury guard Skylar Diggins-Smith will team up with the Seattle Storm’s Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird at the WNBA All-Star Game on Sunday, July 10.

Captains Stewart and Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson drafted their teams on Saturday, and Stewart took Diggins-Smith with her eighth overall selection and third reserve pick.

Diggins-Smith will come off the bench with Storm guard Jewell Loyd, Chicago Sky wing Kahleah Copper, Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas, Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale and Sky forward Emma Meesseman.

Bird and Stewart will start alongside Aces guard Jackie Young, Sun forward Jonquel Jones and Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike.

Stewart traded for Bird to play with her Seattle teammate in what will be the 41-year-old’s 13th and final All-Star Game. Bird was set to be a co-captain with Wilson before the trade.

Diggins-Smith is a six-time All-Star and Phoenix’s scoring leader this year at 19 points per game. She scored her 4,000th career point Saturday against the Sky.

She has made the All-Star team in two of her three seasons with the Mercury after coming over from the Dallas Wings.

The veteran scored five points last year and put up 17 points with eight assists during the event in 2018.

The 31-year-old was the only Mercury player to make the 2022 All-Star Game.

The game is set for 10 a.m. in Chicago.
