Head coach Tommy Lloyd and the Arizona Wildcats men’s basketball team will get some fresh star power on the court for the 2022-23 season.
Five-star guard Kylan Boswell, originally in the class of 2023, reclassified to the class of 2022 on Wednesday and announced he will be in Tucson this fall via his Twitter.
Boswell originally committed to Arizona on Feb. 28, choosing the Wildcats over Illinois and UNLV.
The Chandler Compass Prep guard became the first five-star prospect to commit to Arizona under Lloyd, who took over in 2021.
The Wildcats had a successful first year under Lloyd, winning the Pac-12 regular season as well as the conference tournament, before being a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Boswell was the fourth ranked point guard in the 2023 class and No. 2 player in the state, per 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
The guard could make an early impact in Tucson, with the Wildcats looking to replace guard Bennedict Mathurin’s production from a year ago after he went No. 6 overall in the NBA Draft.
Arizona also lost guard Dalen Terry to the draft, but sharpshooter Kerr Kriisa is back for another year.
