Cardinals QB Kyler Murray’s contract extension has social media buzzing

Following a tumultuous offseason filled with drama and speculation, the Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray have finally agreed to a five-year deal worth a reported $230.5 million with $160 million guaranteed.

Since entering the league in 2019, Murray has been at the forefront of the Cardinals’ ascent as he looks to lead Arizona to their first playoff win since 2015.

Players, fans and members of the media took to the internet to express their different reactions to Murray’s extension on Thursday.

Murray’s teammates were quick to show the QB love following the news the deal was done.

Various Twitter users and Cardinals fans also shared their reactions to the Murray deal with creative pictures and captions.

With his new contract, Murray is now the second-highest paid quarterback in the NFL, as he trails only Green Bay Packers signal caller Aaron Rodgers in yearly money.

Interestingly enough, Murray’s new deal is very close to the Oakland Athletics’ current payroll, the MLB team that drafted the QB in 2018.

While a majority of fans are pleased with the Murray extension, some fans expressed their displeasure with the amount of money Murray will be making.
