The Arizona Diamondbacks will recall right-hander Corbin Martin from Triple-A Reno to start Sunday against the Washington Nationals, manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Saturday.
The team has not made an official announcement nor disclosed a corresponding move.
Martin started the season on the big-league roster coming out of the bullpen.
The D-backs optioned him on April 21 and recalled the righty two days later.
Martin entered in relief for the ejected Madison Bumgarner in Miami against the Marlins on May 4 and was optioned May 6.

The 26-year-old has been in Reno since that appearance in which he tossed four frames and allowed two runs to help save the rest of the bullpen.
“He’s been throwing the ball really well in Reno,” Lovullo said Saturday.
“He’s been working hard. It hasn’t been an easy road for him. We know that. But when it happens, it happens fast. And I think he’s connecting some things and we’re really excited to have him here.”
Martin has a 4.40 ERA in 14.1 innings pitched in the majors this year.
All 12 of his Triple-A outings have been starts this season. He owns a 5.10 ERA in 60 innings with the Aces but has had a pair of strong showings leading to his recall.
Martin allowed one earned run in 14 innings over his most recent two starts, in one of which he threw eight scoreless frames.
The D-backs’ rotation entered the All-Star break banged up with Humberto Castellanos and Zach Davies on the injured list. Dallas Keuchel was designated for assignment after four starts on Wednesday.
Lovullo said Davies threw a bullpen session Friday and it went smoothly. Davies’ next step is throwing to live hitters, which his manager said could happen next week.
