It’s okay Arizona Diamondbacks fans, Josh Rojas has not been traded away and bats leadoff for Saturday’s game against the Colorado Rockies.
The Los Angeles Angels traveled north to square off against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday when third baseman Jose Rojas stepped to the plate.
The only problem is the Mariners scoreboard operator at T-Mobile Park had never looked up the Angels third baseman.
MLB.com Angels beat reporter Rhett Bollinger snapped a photo of a player he did not recognize.
The editing job shows Josh Rojas in an Angels cap and jersey, yet depicts the correct stats for the Angels 3B who is only in game No. 10 this season.
Fans were quick to come to Bollinger’s aid and pointed out that was instead the Diamondbacks’ third baseman.
But, to fans around the Valley’s relief, the trade deadline has come and gone and Rojas remains a member of the D-backs.
