Arizona Coyotes prospect Logan Cooley — the 2022 No. 3 overall pick — will represent the United States at the upcoming International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Edmonton, Alberta.

Fellow Coyotes 2022 draft pick Maksymilian Szuber — a sixth-round pick — will skate for Germany.

Dylan Guenther, Arizona’s 2021 first-rounder, will not play for Team Canada after suffering a knee injury in the Western Hockey League in June. The 19-year-old is expected to be back for NHL camp, the Edmonton Sun reported.

Cooley is the highest Coyotes draft pick since Dylan Strome in 2015. He is from Pittsburgh, Penn., and is committed to play at the University of Minnesota next year before jumping to the pros in 2023-24.

The 18-year-old had 75 points in 51 games in the U.S. National Development Program last season, including 27 goals.

Cooley was one of three first-round picks Arizona made this year along with Conor Geekie and Maveric Lamoureux.

The event is set for August 9-20, and the United States will face Szuber and Germany to open competition Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Team USA plays in Group B with Austria, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland, while Group A consists of Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia and Slovakia.

The U.S. National Junior Team won gold at the 2021 competition.
