The Arizona Wildcats announced the athletic department finished installing new field turf at Arizona Stadium.
The school said it spent $1.3 million to add FieldTurf Vortex Core artificial grass with Purefill natural cork pellets.
“As we’ve done with all of our enhancements over the years, we continually look to improve our athletic venues with new technology to ensure our student-athletes have a first-class experience,” said vice president and director of athletics Dave Heeke in a release.
“The long-term vision of our football facility is a critical piece to the future of our entire athletics department, and I know our supporters will also enjoy the refresh of the playing surface at Arizona Stadium.”
It took from May through July to install the field, and the detailing that followed included tweaks to the end zone logos, adding a “Bear Down” logo in each corner and swapping a “Bear Down” midfield logo with the school’s block A.
Arizona posted pictures of the finished product as well as a fresh coat of paint on the indoor basketball court in McKale Center.
