The Arizona Cardinals had a number of contributors in their 36-23 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday night.
The big plays came from all facets, whether it be on offense, defense or special teams.
In the latest episode of Cardinals Corner, Arizona Sports’ Cardinals reporter Tyler Drake and 98.7 FM’s afternoon contributor Erik Ruby take a look at the long list of standouts from Friday.
Which Cardinal stole the show? Was it a two-man race between Victor Dimukeje and Trace McSorley? And whose stock rose the most after the dust settled?
But while there were certainly a lot of positives to take away from the matchup, there were still a few rough spots for Arizona.
Among the four potential starters that suited up on Friday, two posted games to forget.
Their names? Cornerback Marco Wilson and MIKE backer Zaven Collins.
Both players looked out of sorts in their first preseason action of the year. Collins finished with one tackle and was caught standing multiple times, while Wilson struggled in coverage and was called for pass interference.
It’s a tough look for two players Arizona is counting on to take that next step in defensive coordinator Vance Joseph’s defense.
What does the duo need to improve on to solidify their spots in the starting lineup? And just how in jeopardy are their roles within the defense?
