The Phoenix Suns will head to Denver to face the Nuggets on Christmas Day this upcoming season, Mike Singer of the Denver Post reported Sunday.
The matchup is the third reported for the holiday after Marc Stein tweeted that the Golden State Warriors will host the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Lakers play the Dallas Mavericks as part of ESPN/ABC’s slate.
The Suns are playing on Christmas for the second straight season after falling to the Warriors 116-107 at Footprint Center last year.
Their most recent game on the holiday before 2021-22 came back in 2009-10 against the Los Angeles Clippers, which was the last time the Suns played on consecutive Christmas Days.
The Suns beat the Nuggets twice in three games last season with their only loss coming during the season-opener.
Phoenix swept Denver in the second round en route to the NBA Finals in 2020-21.
Christmas Day will be a busy one for Arizona sports fans, as the Cardinals are also in action, facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at State Farm Stadium. They hosted a Christmas game last year, against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Cardinals face the Buccaneers at 6:20 p.m.
The NBA has yet to announce any Christmas Day matchups. The schedule release last year took place on Aug. 20.
