The Phoenix Suns on Tuesday unveiled a new Classic Edition jersey for the 2022-23 season, a throwback to the team’s sunburst look.
The uniforms celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1992-93 squad that made the NBA Finals behind MVP Charles Barkley.
Phoenix revealed the look with a nod to the NBA Jam arcade game at downtown’s Cobra Arcade bar, with center Deandre Ayton rocking the new Nike jerseys.

The jersey concept from the 1990s, which is arguably the biggest fan favorite in the franchise’s history of over 50 years, will return to the rotation in purple. The team wore the sunburst uniforms in white, purple and black from 1992-2000.
Phoenix teased the throwback jerseys with a video posted to their social accounts on Monday that included former players Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Mark West, Cedric Ceballos, Oliver Miller and Tim Kempton.

Last season, the Suns wore four different jerseys. Phoenix had its default white and purple kits, on top of the ever-popular Valley blacks that quickly became the signature of the team. Lastly, an orange get-up with a smaller sunburst logo in the middle wrapped up the lineup.
The Suns are coming off a 64-win regular season that set the franchise record, breaking the 62-win mark from the 1992-93 squad and 2004-05.
Phoenix entered the postseason as the betting favorite to win the championship before losing in seven games against the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semifinals.
