D-backs’ Stone Garrett hits first career home run off White Sox’s Cease

The Diamondbacks took on one of the American League’s best pitchers on Sunday in Chicago White Sox RHP Dylan Cease while Arizona chased a three-game sweep.
It did not take long for the D-backs to strike first, as in the top of the second inning with two outs, rookie Stone Garrett launched his first career home run to give Arizona the lead.

The 429-foot shot was the longest home run Cease had surrendered on the season. Cease had a 2.27 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and struck out 182 batters in 25 games this season entering Sunday.
Garrett has impressed so far in his four games played entering Sunday.
The outfielder batted .400 with six hits and an RBI. This also included a 2-for-3 appearance in his first career start in the big leagues.
Before being called up from Triple-A Reno, Garrett led the Pacific Coast League in home runs with 28 and RBIs with 95 in 103 games.
D-backs RHP Zach Davies took the bump for Arizona and allowed two runs in 5.2 frames.
Arizona beat Chicago 3-2 to finished the three-game sweep.
