Arizona Cardinals long snapper Aaron Brewer was among the surprise cuts in the team’s effort to trim the roster down to 53 players on Tuesday.

It sounds like the long snapper will be back with the team following addition roster moves, however.

Other interesting cuts included third-string quarterback Trace McSorley and veteran linebacker Devon Kennard.

Here’s a full list of known cuts from the team.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said Monday that McSorley will be brought back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro added that Wiggins, Baccellia and Whittaker could also join the practice squad if they clear waivers.

Walker has spent three seasons in Arizona after playing 12 games last season. He recorded 11 tackles over that span.

Martin played two games for the Cardinals in 2021.

Whittaker was among the first Cardinals cuts reported on Monday. Mainly a practice squad body, Whittaker has played six games over two seasons with the Cardinals. Over that span, he recorded seven tackles and a QB hit. Whittaker recorded a team-high seven tackles in the team’s preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. He added five more over the final two contests.

Baccellia scored Arizona’s first preseason touchdown of the year in the team’s win over the Bengals. Unfortunately for the wideout, that would be his only catch of the preseason as he suffered an ankle injury later in the contest. He did not play in the team’s last two exhibitions and was a nonparticipant at practice. The wide receiver joined Arizona last offseason before being cut and joining the team’s practice squad.

Wiggins was selected by the Cardinals with the No. 243 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Cincinnati. He was waived by the team and then re-signed to the practice squad in August 2021 before getting promoted to the active roster where he appeared in three games prior to being placed on injured reserve in December. Wiggins registered seven solo tackles and one interception in preseason this year.
