It was a highly anticipated night at Chase Field on Monday, with Arizona Diamondbacks top prospect Corbin Carroll making his MLB debut against the Philadelphia Phillies.
He wasted little time making an impact, delivering the biggest hit of the night in the fifth inning in what would be a 13-7 win for the D-backs.
Known for his prowess as a hitter, Carroll showed just why with a go-ahead two-run double, marking his first career hit and RBIs in the majors.

The double gave the D-backs a 9-7 lead after trailing 7-0 as the Phillies jumped on starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner.
He would later score for the second time of the game, crossing home plate on an RBI-walk.
The D-backs would score 13 unanswered runs to come from behind and beat the Phillies, with Carroll playing his part.
He finished the night going 1-for-5 with a strikeout.
Playing in right field, Carroll saw immediate action in his debut recording the first out of the game on a deep fly ball from Phillies leadoff hitter Kyle Schwarber.
His first at-bat came in the bottom of the third, where he hit a high-chopper to second.
Carroll was thrown out by Jean Segura, but certainly showed off his speed in the process.

His second at-bat came with runners on the corners during a D-backs’ rally in the fourth inning.
The outfielder sent another one Segura’s way, but the Phillies second baseman committed an error which allowed a run to score and Carroll to reach first safely.
He would, however, cross home plate for the first time as a big leaguer on a bases-clearing double from catcher Carson Kelly that capped off a six-run fourth inning for Arizona.
Fellow outfielder and rookie Stone Garrett joined in on the fun too, blasting a deep home run to left for his second in as many games.
