One of the most highly anticipated debuts in Arizona Diamondbacks history came to fruition this week, as outfielder Corbin Carroll made his Major League debut on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Carroll, who was drafted in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft, had been hitting .307 with 24 home runs, 62 RBI and 31 stolen bases this year in the minor leagues.
Since making his MLB debut, he has continued his production so far with the big league club.
Carroll has also gathered two extra-base hits in his first two games and brought home five RBI, the most in franchise history for a rookie in his first two contests.
One of those extra-base hits included a 439-foot double off the centerfield wall that would have been a homer in any other ballpark.
He has also demonstrated his incredible speed on the base paths.
With Carroll now joining Alek Thomas, Daulton Varsho, Jake McCarthy and Stone Garrett, the D-backs should have one of the most exciting outfields in Major League Baseball.
Steve Zinsmeister and Cody Fincher discuss the future of the D-backs as well as the organization’s decision to bring back manager Torey Lovullo for the 2023 season on the latest episode of The Ain’t No Fang, an Arizona Sports podcast.
