A classroom at an Austin public charter school was in for quite a surprise this week.

A group of students at Austin Harmony School of Excellence was asked if missing school on Thursday to carry some boxes would be okay.

A day off from class? They agreed. But, the students’ enthusiasm really came out when asked to chat with Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson. The classroom erupted.

Robinson spent time with the school’s football team on Thursday, answering questions.

The boxes in question were filled with backpacks, as Robinson donated $3,000 worth of them to the school.

Robinson tweeted, “Just wanting to be a blessing!”

Austin Harmony School of Excellence is approximately seven miles away from DKR Texas Memorial Stadium, where Robinson is entering his junior season.

The Tucson native and Salpointe Catholic High School product is on various watchlists including Walter Camp Player of the Year, Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award and Wuerffel Trophy.

His success has led to NIL partnerships, including Lamborghini Austin, but he has not overlooked the community he plays in.
