PHOENIX SUNS
Dario Saric and Croatia pick up narrow win over Kerr Kriisa and Estonia
Phoenix Suns forward Dario Saric registered a double-double and helped Croatia to a key win in FIBA EuroBasket over University of Arizona’s Kerr Kriisa and Estonia.
Saric poured in 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the 73-70 win as the Croatians have now won two in a row after losing to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece in the tournament opener.
The shooting stroke was a little inefficient as Saric was just 4-for-11 from the field, but he was able to knock down two of his four 3-point attempts and was 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.
He also dished out three assists and logged two steals.
Kriisa also struggled from the field shooting just 1-for-11 in the game. He missed on all seven of his 3-point attempts and finished with five points in just over 27 minutes.
With the loss, Estonia moves to 0-3 in the group stage with just two games remaining.
Great Britain is the only other team in Group C with out a win. With six teams in each group and the top four teams each moving on, Estonia has an uphill battle to advance to the next round.
Croatia is one of three teams with two wins in the group.
It has two games left against Italy and Ukraine and is expected to advance to the Round of 16.
