The Arizona Cardinals and BetMGM on Thursday debuted the sportsbook at State Farm Stadium, which is the first of its kind in the NFL.

It will open to the public on Sunday at 9 a.m. before the Cardinals open their season at home against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The two-story building built on the Great Lawn, just west of the stadium, is 17,000 square feet and features more than 25 betting kiosks, a 265-square-foot video wall with 38 additional televisions, plus a bar and grill.

It has a capacity of 500 people and will be open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. with extended hours of 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. on the weekends.

The sportsbook also has concert-hosting amenities that can host music and comedy shows outdoors for audiences gathering in the Great Lawn.

“We knew sports betting was coming, the NFL did. Arizona really, again, crafted the best piece of legislation in the United States. I think it’s a model for other states to follow,” Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“We’ve already got many events booked. So this is going to be a 365-day-a-year facility.”

Bidwill and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey were in attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.

BetMGM and the Cardinals partnered on the project in August of 2021 to present fans a unique experience for the upcoming NFL season.

“The BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium is one of the most revolutionary additions an NFL stadium has seen in decades and unlike anything fans have encountered on gamedays,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said in a press release. “BetMGM shares the Arizona Cardinals’ vision in pursuing new ways to break barriers and entertain fans.”

To celebrate the sportsbook’s opening, DJ Pauly D will put on a pregame concert Sunday at 11:45 a.m.
