Arizona Cardinals corner Byron Murphy Jr. was on the receiving end of the scoop-and-score fumble that secured an all-time comeback win against the Las Vegas Raiders.

“All I knew is I had to score,” Murphy told Cardinals sideline reporter Paul Calvisi on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.

“That was the first thing in my head, run as fast as you can and get in the end zone. Everything was slow, it is a blurry moment until you pick up that ball and everything gets faster and faster.”

Walk-off scores do not happen often in the NFL, but Arizona found pay dirt with zero seconds left in regulation thanks to the fumble-recovery-turned-touchdown.

There was moment of pause, however, as Murphy’s touchdown went to review to see if the cornerback held onto the ball as he crossed the plane. Luckily for Murphy, the play stood as did the victory.

“That’s a lesson to learn, but I am going to take that one all the way home with me next time,” Murphy told Calvisi.

“Luckily he’s not going to be a meme for the next 30 years of his life,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said postgame.

The Cardinals’ group of corners did a phenomenal job limiting Raiders star wideout Davante Adams to two catches for 12 yards and one score.

Arizona will host the Los Angeles Rams for an NFC West divisional battle on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
