In Carson Palmer I trust

Every $19.95 invention grabbed my attention. If I buy now, I can get my offer doubled. However, this offer is not available in stores!
From age 5 to 14, almost every time an ad came on TV with an incredible idea, my dad would say, “If the offer is too good to believe, don’t.”
Dad, I’ve agreed with you all the way up until now. Carson Palmer in training camp has been too good to believe. I believe anyway.
Ironically, my dad lives 45 miles from Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. He’s seen a vast majority of Palmer’s snaps. A high minority of those snaps weren’t very good. I believe anyway.
My football intelligence is screaming at me to bail. Palmer is wearing a black “don’t touch me jersey.” There is nothing in sports with a higher degree of difference between practice and game than the position of quarterback. Eleven guys five days of week try to run by you and act like they’ve hit you as opposed to eleven men earning more money than they ever thought possible if they can bury you into the ground.
Palmer is the star of camp while wearing the black jersey. The warnings to turn my back on Palmer run deeper. There is no running game. Andre Ellington: hurt. David Johnson: hurt. Chris Johnson: not signed. Kerwynn Williams: fumbling. Bobby Massie as RT: suspended (pending appeal). Jonathan Cooper as RG: never played RG in an NFL regular season game. A rotation of centers doesn’t instill confidence, either.
I admit, before any regular season play from the offense, no intelligent football analyst would list Carson Palmer as a top-8 quarterback. With no signs of a running game and zero preseason games, any column written about the success Carson Palmer will have is a complete waste of your time to read. The guy’s coming off of a torn ACL so there’s no way he’ll rebound. I’m smart enough to know I’m being stupid to type anything positive about Carson Palmer based on two weeks of “don’t touch me,”…but I have to tell you what I’m thinking.
Carson Palmer will be a force in 2015 and all of us will benefit.
