Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is likely to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
McCaffrey was listed as questionable going into the contest with a thigh injury after missing two days of practice this week.
And despite being limited in the only day of practice he participated in on Friday, he did tell reporters that he “feels great.”
Through three games this season, McCaffrey has rushed for 243 yards on 50 carries for an average of 4.9 per rush.
And in the passing game, the running back has compiled 57 yards on 10 receptions (14 targets).
McCaffrey has had quite a bit of success in his career against the Cardinals, both of which were wins for the Panthers.
In those two contests, the running back put up a total of 248 rushing yards and score while also reeling in 13 receptions for 101 yards.
McCaffrey’s last appearance against Arizona featured the Carolina RB rushing for 95 yards on 13 rushes. He also caught all 10 targets for 66 receiving yards.
Arizona defensive coordinator Vance Joseph will have to focus on limiting big plays, especially in the screen game. Per Pro Football Focus, the Cardinals have allowed 147 yards and two touchdowns on 16 catches on screens.
The Cardinals take on the Panthers at 1:05 p.m. Arizona time on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
