Cardinals set as home underdogs by oddsmakers against Eagles

Oct 9, 2022, 7:03 AM

The Arizona Cardinals come into their Week 5 matchup against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles as 5.5-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Cardinals are looking for their first win at home since Week 7 in 2021 against the Houston Texans and oddsmakers find it unlikely despite being tied for first place in the NFC West standings.

Arizona has been listed as the underdog in each of its five games this season as two second-half comebacks have led the Cardinals to two wins.

Those two wins were the only times the Cardinals have covered against the spread.

The accomplishments were not enough to convince oddsmakers to give them the edge over the Eagles, who have beat the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders and Jacksonville Jaguars through four weeks this season.

Philadelphia has been listed as the betting favorite in all four games, covering in all of them except in Week 1 against the Lions.

The over/under in the Week 5 matchup at State Farm Stadium was set at 50 points on the opening line but has since dropped to 48.5 as both teams are managing issues with their kickers.

The Cardinals have been on the under side in each of their last two games. They hit the over in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs and pushed the number against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2.

Philadelphia is 2-2 in over/unders after hitting the over in Week 1 and Week 4.

On the moneyline, Arizona is listed as a +200 underdog meaning a $100 bet would double up to a $200 profit if the Cardinals were to win.

The Eagles are listed as -240 on the moneyline, forcing bettors to post $240 to win $100 in profit.
