Cardinals’ new black helmets to make regular-season debut vs. Eagles

The Arizona Cardinals will be rocking a brand new look for the very first time in the regular season on Sunday.
The Cardinals will be donning their black alternate uniforms with their new black helmets against the Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium.
This won’t be the first time the new black helmets have been worn in an NFL game in Glendale, however, as they saw some action in Arizona’s 24-17 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 21.
The Cardinals will also wear the new helmets in their Week 7 matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 20 for Thursday Night Football, which also marks the return of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
In June 2021, the NFL changed its uniform policy to allow for each team in the league to have one alternate helmet, which Arizona will combine with its alternate black jersey.
“The look of this helmet is so incredibly sharp and something I know that both our players and fans will absolutely love,” Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill said in a press release in August.
“We are excited to showcase them this season, especially on a national stage.”
The Cardinals host the Eagles on Sunday for their Week 5 matchup at 1:25 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
