The Arizona Coyotes’ roster for the start of the 2022-23 season is out and includes highly touted prospect Dylan Guenther.

Guenther, a 19-year-old forward, is ranked as one of the Coyotes’ top two prospects alongside 2022 N0. 3 overall pick Logan Cooley. Guenther had a terrific year last season in the Western Hockey League (WHL), amounting to 45 goals and 46 assists in 59 games for the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Guenther will have nine games across his “trial period” before his player-level contract would be triggered for the entire NHL season. He was the ninth overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Here is a full look at the roster:

The Coyotes on Monday also claimed former Nashville Predators goalie Connor Ingram off waivers.

Ingram slots into the backup spot behind starting goaltender Karel Vejmelka on the season-opening roster. Jonas Johansson was also claimed off waivers prior to the start of this season and was in line to potentially be the No. 2 but he is beginning the season on injured reserve after getting hurt in the preseason.

Jon Gillies and Ivan Prosvetov also got time in the preseason but were both sent down to the Coyotes’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners.

Ingram, 25, broke through to the NHL level last season, playing in three games (all starts) for Nashville. He recorded a 3.71 goals against average and .878 save percentage in those three appearances.

Ingram was originally drafted 88th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ingram has spent the majority of his last five seasons in the AHL, where he has amassed 149 games played over that time period. He was acquired by Nashville in June 2019 for a seventh-round pick.

The Coyotes’ regular season begins on Thursday in Pittsburgh against the Penguins. You can hear the 4 p.m. puck drop on ESPN 620 AM/98.7 FM HD-2.
