Social media reacts to Damion Lee’s game-winner, Suns’ comeback

Oct 19, 2022, 10:42 PM

Phoenix Suns reserve Damion Lee was the opening night hero for his new team, sinking a go-ahead fadeaway jumper in the final 10 seconds to beat the Dallas Mavericks 107-105 on Wednesday.

The Suns came back from 22 points down to pick up a win over their 2022 playoff foes, including a 15-point hole in the fourth quarter.

Lee’s shot and the comeback sparked reactions online, perhaps none louder than from another Western Conference rival.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry woke up his child cheering for Lee, his brother-in-law and former teammate, in front of the TV.

“There you go D-Lee!” Curry exclaimed.

Lee scored 11 points in the fourth quarter of his Suns debut, one heck of an introduction to the home crowd at Footprint Center. To add more surprises to Wednesday’s showing, Lee and Cam Payne were in the game with Chris Paul on the bench during the closing minutes.

Here are more reactions to a memorable night in the Valley.
