“I’m definitely excited that during my career I’ll hopefully have a photo with my child on the field,” he said back in June.
A first-time father, Watt received support from his teammates, who claimed to be providing him with parenting advice.
“All these guys told me they’d give me tips — I haven’t gotten one tip yet,” Watt said in June.
It’s been an eventful season for the 33-year-old.
He contracted COVID-19 in August, missed the season opener to an injured calf, had his heart go into A-Fib and shocked back into rhythm three days before playing against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4 and now welcomes his son to the world.
In six games this season, Watt has 2.5 sacks, three passes defensed and four tackles for loss.
It’s been a nice bounce-back campaign for the future Hall of Famer, who played just seven games last year. In his limited action, he tallied one sack, two passes defensed and five tackles for loss.
