Northwest Christian’s Noah Larson uses his faith to be best role model

Noah Larson, a senior at Northwest Christian high school, has always aimed for success in school and to be a big part of the community. He is a standout student with a 4.0 GPA, a member of the National Honors Society and a leader in multiple sports whether its on the gridiron or on the basketball courts.

Starting his first two years at Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory, he would eventually move to Northwest Christian High School, a campus that included an elementary and middle school as well.

Attending the larger Northwest Christian was a massive change in scenery and atmosphere, but it did not take long for Larson to get involved at the school. He has found a spot within the Prayer Warriors Club, Psych Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus, becoming integrated with his classmates and friends.

“I had never been in that big of an environment,” Larson said. “I have a big fear of missing out so I love to participate in as many things as I can.”

Being as social as Larson is has also made him aware of different problems others deal with. One example is his efforts with helping people suffering homelessness, which all stemmed from a conversation with his friends.

“My friends and I got together for lunch one day and we just felt stirred,” Larson said. “I feel like we were just being lazy in our lives and we could have been doing something with our resources.”

That conversation at lunch led to Larson and his friends purchasing food, water and toiletries, giving them to homeless people around the Valley as they spent time with them.

“I think we were all kind of motivated with just that feeling out of heart to help others in need,” Larson said.

Larson has also volunteered for a long list of other programs, helping out the city of Phoenix clean the streets, multiple ministries, Feed My Starving Children, the Hope Women’s Center and more.

Larson’s work with youth programs as well has made him aware of being the best role model for the younger elementary and middle school students at Northwest Christian

“When I was young, I also went to a small Christian school and I got to see all the high school students walking around and I was like, ‘Those are the coolest people in the world!'” Larson said. “They just admire you because you’re older and I think by setting a good example of being humble and kind to everyone around is the best thing you can do.”

Larson has set his eyes on a couple of universities to pursue after graduating in the summer next year. He has an open mind on what he wants to pursue for a career. His hope is to continue growing as a leader and help others grow, too.

“My number one goal is to glorify God,” Larson said. “Exemplifying his attributes, kindness, love, patience, joy, justice and helping those who are underrepresented and mistreated … God calls us to use those talents that he’s given us. I want to use my talents he has given me and not waste them.”
